Such promise for a thriving lead up to the 2012 Olympic Games in terms of job creation has been overshadowed by a scam promising jobs to foreign workers. After investigations it has been revealed today that 550 Slovakians handed over cash deposits of £600 to convicted fraudster Nigel Lewis, based in East London, after being promised accommodation on a cruise ship in Docklands and jobs on the site of the Olympic Village.
This is absolutely shocking and an embarrassment to the nation! I hope workers are not put off by this and continue to show interest as after all we need workers to boost our economy and we will need workers to help with the Olympics when it comes.
My advice to anyone seeking work in London for the Olympic Games is do you your checks before you commit. Make sure you are signing up to a credible company. Real job opportunities will not require you to pay them rather you will be paid by them.
