Should MPs have their expenses released to the public eye?

Parliament is doing all it can to stop details of MPs expenses being released including that of Gordon Brown and David Cameron.

If they are confident that what they have spent was just and proper there should be no problem in releasing what they have spent their money on and claimed back on the State.

If they expect us to have ID cards, pay our ever increasing taxes, surly they can give us confidence in them by stating their own spending?
