Aim to see a “well note” culture but at what cost to the honest people among us?

Revisiting the proposals for changes to transform the current sick note culture to a “well note” culture reported by the CIPD last month today were backed up by the national director for health and work, Dame Carol Black. Ill health is apparently costing the economy £100bn a year which could obviously be better spent else where provided that the correct support is given to workers who do actually need it.

I am all for getting people who wrongly seek incapacity benefit back to work and benefiting the economy because of it but do think the honest people among us need to be treated fairly and this will have to be enforced on the medical professionals who have the say on who should be working and who should not. Doctors are not always right!
