Holidays are coming but now is the perfect time to update your CV!

As we all settle back during the festive season don’t become too lax! Now is the prefect time to get your CV updated for the following year, even if you have a job. It is a good time to reflect on the experiences you have had throughout the year both in your career and on a personal level. Use those experiences and new skills and competencies to update your CV with good content.

It is ALWAYS good to have your CV up to date and ready to be sent to employers for application.

Give yourself a good early Christmas present - Register with JumpToJobs.co.uk to receive the latest jobs in the UK direct to your inbox and to find the job of your dreams!

Don’t cancel Christmas yet…

Although we are facing one of the worst economic downturns of all time its not a time to say ba humbug and cancel Christmas celebrations. Yes – Christmas is really a time for commercial profit but it is a time of celebration both religiously and perhaps more importantly for people to reflect on the year gone by. Unfortunately not all people are lucky enough to have people around them at Christmas, so count yourself lucky if you do.

It is also not time for employers to cancel Christmas parties either. Perhaps keep them from getting out of hand budget wise, certainly, but parties are important for morale. After all, without good morale what is the point?

Make one of your New Years resolutions to Register with JumpToJobs.co.uk to receive the latest jobs in the UK direct to your inbox and to find the job of your dreams!

Generation Y don’t seem to be worried about the recession

Younger folk seem to be very optimistic about the downturn and the possibility of tough times to come. I suppose it’s a good positive way to look at it and after all the world just doesn’t stop due to a recession. Jobs still have to be done.

It is a time to be careful though and consider the future…

People who get paid the most seem to work the least

It seems that the CEO’s, Directors, and board members of the corporate world get paid very handsomely; able to afford fancy cars and private school fees, but they don’t seem to do much work other than make a few decisions from time to time. Maybe it’s the reward for what they have done in the past or maybe it’s a bit of luck but the lions share of work seems to be done at the lower end of the ladder and it really does not seem fair.

I wouldn’t say no to a position like that in the future myself though so I guess it’s just a fact of life that we all need to strive for the top…

Most Brits wouldn’t quit work for their dream job

Most Brits wouldn’t quit work for their dream job -That’s according to Secondpost.com.

We all have dreams of becoming a famous sportsman, an actor or heading into outer space while we grow up but for most these are all just childhood dreams (healthy in my opinion) that are a far cry from the reality of what is needed in life. Basically we all need to find a job that will sustain our means of living and if that includes supporting a family then too that is an important aspect of securing employment that will suffice the means with which you need to provide. You will probably find the most unlikely people realise their dreams or become famous and get the job they have dreamed of since childhood. It definitely takes a bit of luck and overall desire to get it at all costs. Plus the fact that there is such huge competition for places when it comes to the most desired dream jobs!

In my opinion as long as you can get satisfaction out of what you are doing and get a wage that supports your efforts that’s all we really need. “Love” of a job is a strong word and I think you will be hard pushed to find someone who loves their job but “like” is a good start and finishing point for that matter.
