As Mobile phone maker Sony Ericsson has said today it will shed 2,000 jobs worldwide over the coming year - is this the mark of more bad things to come in the telecommunications industry?

Figures released today paint a worrying picture of how things are going with unemployment.
There are definitely jobs out there but is it that people are just not qualified enough or are they too lazy to get out there and make something of themselves?
Or is it more than that – are we too scared to move on?
Now unemployment is reported as rising by 12,000 to 1.62 million in the three months to May, according to the Office for National Statistics.

People who get the opportunity to follow in the footsteps of their parents careers should grab the opportunity with both hands! If you already have a foot in the door with a good family name, contacts, foundations laid then you are half way there to succeeding and forging a great future.

It all seems a bit doom and gloom at the moment. We are continually hearing negative news of will we or will we not be facing a recession. Heck even the weather is not great!
If you are wanting to move on to a new job, that is great but make sure you prepare yourself for rejection and the possibility of a new job falling through. i.e. the easiest way to get a new job is to have a job in the first place.
Perhaps its time we all sit tight and keep our heads down and ears open.
